No, it's not a facial. Fascia Stretch Therapy (FST) is a unique, highly effective method of assisted stretching that targets the fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles, joints, and organs. Fascia can become tight or restricted due to factors like injury, poor posture, stress, or overuse, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. FST works by gently stretching and releasing tension in the fascia, improving flexibility, reducing muscle tightness, and enhancing overall movement. During a session, a trained therapist, me, uses both active and passive techniques to stretch and lengthen the fascia, helping to improve range of motion, alleviate discomfort, and promote better posture. It’s especially beneficial for those with chronic pain, athletes, or anyone looking to improve flexibility and mobility.
I use FST as needed for my clients. I feel it's a great tool to have for well-rounded care. I would say FST is a lot like massage therapy in that, it's great for maintenance, recovery, injury prevention, and self-care. It can also be easier for a practitioner to stretch you in positions that may not be accessible to you on your own.
My rate for FST is $125 per hour.
Short answer is, sometimes. I'm sure you can understand, I don't want to be running around like a crazy woman and burn myself out. I will do a house call if I can and I'm happy to do it when I can. It never hurts to ask.
